MESSAGE FROM DR. ANDY

Please watch this important message from Dr. Andy about HealthONE and what we need to do to be prepared for its implementation April 28.

NEW DESKTOP ICON

Effective this week, HealthONE is accessible through an updated HealthONE desktop icon. This icon will serve as a replacement for the Epic PRD Hyperspace icon, which is currently available on all desktops. Please keep in mind, although the name of the icon has changed, the updated HealthONE icon will continue to allow end users to access PRD Hyperspace. To open HealthONE on your device, locate the updated HealthONE icon on your desktop and double click on the icon.

If the HealthONE icon is not available on your desktop, please call the HealthONE support line immediately at x4400, Option 1.

Note: If you see both the HealthONE icon and the old PRD Hyperspace icon, try rebooting so the new updates can take effect.

SINGLE SIGN-ON, UNIVERSITY TOWER

Deployment of Single Sign On for all floors of the University Tower is scheduled to take place Monday, April 16. Technicians will be installing Imprivata Single Sign On and rebooting all PC’s beginning at 6:30 a.m.

It is important that you be sure to leave all PC’s powered on to accommodate this. For support and assistance with enrolling employee’s badges during or after deployment, please call the HealthONE Command Center at x4400 option 1. Technicians will be available to provide immediate on-site assistance during the deployment.

WHY HEALTHONE?

HealthONE – Change or transformation?

Often times you’ll hear the word change and transformation used interchangeably, but did you know they are not one in the same? To help you understand the difference, here are some quick facts to keep in mind:

  • Transformation requires a lasting shift in an individual’s mindset and is holistic. It is a strategic journey that continues longer than changes within a process.
  • Transformation redesigns the future state, while change is finite and fixes issues in the past or addresses issues that may currently exist.
  • There is no limit to the amount of work that can be done during a transformation. When you think of transformation, think of it as a journey with many moving parts that intersect to form a new vision.
  • You can always revert back after a change, but with transformation you’ve charted the course towards new values, behaviors, and ways of working.
  • Change is good. However, with a vision, strategy, and cultural shift, transformation creates a bigger, lasting impact.

Our transition to HealthONE will bring many changes when we go live. However, the ongoing efforts of this project will encompass multiple, interdependent initiatives that are part of a large scale organizational transformation, which will shape the future of UConn Health and how we deliver care to our patients. It’s going to be Epic!
