Jennifer Pickert (RN, neurology) joined UConn Health in 2015, and John Pickert (firefighter paramedic) is in his third decade with the UConn Health/UConn Fire Department. "When we first met 27 years ago, we both worked for a local ambulance company and I was his emergency medical technician (EMT)," Jennifer says. "We remained friends over all these years. It wasn’t until I started working at UConn Health as an ED staff nurse that he decided to throw a curve ball and asked me on a date. Four years later, in 2019, we were married."
