Pulse Survey Six Month Results

What was the most memorable story you have read in The Pulse?
any of the great videos that multimedia services has produced! WOW!
cannot recall one that stands out
Coast to Coast for a Cause bike ride
Don’t have one.  But just keep providing across the board information.  Keep the employees “in-the-loop” as we would rather learn about things directly from the source, rather than read about it via some other media.
Don’t remember –
Dr. Cato and his growing cartalidge.  That is huge for UConn Health and the future for all of us.
I actually enjoyed this week’s issue with the names of the buildings.
I am laughing at the video I saw today—with all kidding aside–we don’t know where we work because the names changes but some of the signs remain the same–it was a great video!
I cannot recall.  I like the fact that it gives us feedback from Dr Andy in a timely manner on a variety of issues that pertain to the UConn Health community as well as keeps us informed of other announcements and new stories.
I can’t remember all of the details but it was a story about a doctor who worked with children.  She made her way back to UConn after several years and her story and the way she treated patients (children) inspired me to be a better person.  I also enjoyed reading ‘An act of kindness”.
I can’t say that any story or section has stood out.  The Pulse a nice, clean-looking way of staying in touch with what’s going on in this large institution.
I enjoy the information provided in The Pulse.  I really don’t have a section that is a ‘least favorite’ but the survey required an answer.  The same for the question regarding what story I’d like to see less.  I think The Pulse is adequately appealing as it is.  Thank you.
I have enjoyed all he stories. Because of the changes here at UConn Health and  with our expanding community it is good to see all the things that are happening in the hospital, medical and dental schools, and around the campus here. It makes those of us in offices and cubicles feel more connected.
I just really enjoyed the segment on Building names on the campus.  For those of us who have been here many, many years it’s hard to keep up.
I like it the way it is;  I tried not to answer the last 3 questions because I really do like it the way it is but the survey wouldn’t let me proceed without answering those questions so please disregard the last 3 answers!
I think the best was “name that building”.. it was hysterical… I loved it.
I think the questions and answers in the Dear Andy section are ridiculous.  We have real issues like parking issues for handicap employees.  Job advancement for administrative staff which does not happen unless you know someone and is very unfair.  No incentives for long term employees and dedicated employees.  We have articles on what the buildings are named now and the difference is minimal and is that what we really waste our time on in a health care environment.  Don’t like the pulse at all.
I think the story was in Broadcast, but maybe in The Pulse, too. It was about Dr. Stormy Chamberlain & her research. It was a beautiful piece. I loved it!

And though you haven’t asked here, the section of The Pulse I’m most disappointed in is ‘Dear Dr. Andy.’  In theory, I love this idea! In practice, it falls flat. I’m disappointed @ the questions selected & answers seem canned, measured & often never REALLY answers the question. I think Dr. Andy can do better! Would love to see improvement.

Many  of  the  stories and  videos  were  great. I  truly  enjoyed  seeing  the  move  to  the  University  Tower.

Also a  question  asked  to “Dear Dr. Andy”   of an upset person  after we changed the sign at the Connecticut Tower that  overlooks  I-84. It was  hilarious,  but  In my humble opinion  this disgruntle employee must go!  Innovations  and forward  thinking  don’t  happened  w/  individuals like  tht.

Non specific.
None were particularly memorable.  I like the fact that there is a brief paragraph to explain what the story is about.  I do no like the new LifeLine format because all you see are titles for each item – and many times that title is not descriptive enough to explain what the story is.  A brief blurb on the story like what is here in LifeLine or what was previously done in the old Broadcast Message (before the calendar format) would be much better for the reader.
none.  I did not answer 2 questions because none of the selections mattered but I was not able to submit.  Not a very good system but this is after all unconn
Nothing is really memorable.
Quick-Acting Cardiologist Saves Construction Worker
student who rode her bike for charity
That you want people to volunteer time off after you just built a multi million dollar hospital
The 60th anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. Dixon.  The only reason the “Dear Andy” section is my least favorite is because he is often asked silly questions.  It is difficult to say which stories I would like to see less because I really would like to see all of those listed, but I chose research only because it doesn’t pertain to me in my position.
The articles about the progress of the new University Tower.
The bike ride across country by one of our Med Students.
The Guide to Names at UConn Health
The Loeser Award
The most memorable story I read is about the medical student that traveled from coast to coast, I also love Dear Andy. The Pulse is great! keep up the great work and the great stories!
The most recent one, that I loved, was about the couple celebrating their 60th anniversary in the University Tower.  That’s what it’s all about, family!
The patient who sailed to UConn Health for treatment! 🙂

My favorite section is all of them but I could only pick one.  My least favorite is updates/announcements only because it seems kind of like what we do in the UConn Health Lifeline.

The robot pharmacy will be using.
The story about the TUG robots or the virtual tour of the University Tower, but many others were good too.
The story about what name is the correct name story from the other week.
The Telecommuting story because such an important thing was buried in The Pulse Issue 11 | May 6, 2016, DEAR DR. ANDY – Q&A.  If sincere, Telecommuting deserved a full out announcement – Broadcast News at the time, separate email to all employees.  As it was, I reviewed the UConn Health Telecommuting Guidelines, requested several times, a meeting with my manager, then my AVP, and was ignored each time.

UConn Health In the News should be included in the daily Lifeline – no need to repeat.

The UConn Dr who saved a guy’s life. He was a bystander, right place at the right time, and jumped in to help save the guy. I don’t remember details, but it was a good story. In general, I tend to remember the patient stories more. I like these ‘feel good’ stories.
The University Tower Hospital opening / patient transfer move from CT tower to University Tower.  The newly opened ED.  Academic/Class of 2020 new Curriculum for “future doctors”.
There have been so many good stories. It’s such a great way to remind everyone here at UConn Health that we are a team.
They all have been great from the articles about the Patient Move and opening of the new tower to the opening of the new Women’s Center, all of the articles have been informative and wonderful.
This doesn’t answer the question but I would like to be able to send Dr Andy questions from home and the link doesn’t work.  When he asked for cost-savings suggestions, I typed up a whole page at home and then couldn’t send it.  I am much too busy at work to spend time doing it from there.
todays name that building video
Today’s story of the couple celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. It shows how truly caring and compassionate UConn staff are. And how they care for all aspects of the patient, not just physical but emotional as well. It also showed their care and compassion for the patient’s spouse. I loved it and look forward to more.
volunteers are guiding patients–finally.   When I came for a dental appt on the second day, it was really hard to find the clinic.

If you asked for more comments, I would say–please make the Lifeline more like the Pulse.   Clicking in and out of the Lifeline takes too long.  Put it back on one screen for easy scanning.  We can’t scan the Lifeline.

What has been most memorable are the “Dr. Andy” sections.  Frankly, they are inane.  Either no one is asking any questions of substance, Dr. Andy is choosing not to answer such questions, or both.  Surely, the most pressing questions do not concern issues such as the health of the landscaping.  The section could be quite useful if substantive issues were addressed.  By the way, this is an opinion shared by many.  Just ask!
What is your least favorite section of The Pulse?* I just picked one since it is a required field. I like the entire communication like I like my newspaper.
